2018 Projects/initiatives

Chris Kegel continues to inspire us to work hard to make the world a better place for bikes, because bikes make the world a better place for bikes.

Helping drive targeted infrastructure improvements in our local communities.

2018: Using the funds we collected from our 2017 Chris' Slow Roll, we are working with Milwaukee County Parks & the Wisconsin Bike Fed to improve way-finding along Milwaukee's Oak Leaf Trail

By color coding the 120 mile trail system (similar to London/ NYC subway systems), the Oak Leaf Trail will be easier to navigate.

Installations of signage and map systems will allow users to keep track of their adventures and plan routes.

Creating community-friendly, inclusive riding events for all types of cyclists.

2018/9: Taking people on bike rides was one of Chris' favorite things to do. From short fun rides, to long distance tours, riding can inspire confidence and change your life for the better. The CK Foundation has three rides scheduled including:

Columbia River Gorge Challenge

4th Annual Chris’ Slow Roll- August 25th- Milwaukee, WI. (Learn More)

Developing cycling advocate leadership programs in collaboration with PeopleForBikes

2018: The Foundation is sending local planners and advocates to national conferences and training workshops.

Places For Bikes Conference-The second annual PlacesForBikes Conference will take place May 1 – 3, 2018, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Convening hundreds of local leaders and bike industry representatives from across the U.S., it will give you tools, ideas and strategies to achieve broader community goals through biking.
